The Men' Club at Immanuel serves to foster connections between men in our community through Christian fellowship. We work to provide a safe place for Christian conversation and sharing at monthly meetings. We enjoy creating events that bring people together.
In years past, the men played dartball with other groups of men from neighboring communities. Their community beef dinners were outstanding and brought many people together for fun and fellowship. More recently, their work in organizing Hinckley's Germanfest attracted attendees from as far as Wisconsin and Indiana. The Men's Club has also been an outlet for men to use their creativity and skill in building and repairing elements of nearby community structures. We are even developing a crew of workers who will offer free materials and labor to our neighbors who may be in need of minor home improvements or maintenance. If you would like to know more, or are interested in joining our group, contact Pastor Chris at 815-286-3885.
Throughout our 150 years, the ministry of women in the church has been an integral part of our life in this community. They have been especially blessed as they have connected to the work of their sisters in faith through organization like the Lutheran Women's Missionary League.
Many families in need have been blessed with food and other resources to maintain house and home, because of their efforts. They have served food to countless visitors, members, and friends at funeral dinners, fund raisers, and outreach events. The congregation has been led to beautify our worship space with banners, stained glass updates, and organ repairs with their leadership. They have raised hundreds of children in faith serving as Sunday school teachers and Vacation Bible School leaders. The ladies are able to give so much, because they gather regularly to read and study and be filled with the Lord's Word of life. For more information, contact Lorraine Kaus.
